Amish Chicken Coops

Many people, being increasingly worried about the over-processed chicken available in supermarkets today, choose to keep chickens at home. If space permits, rearing chickens at home has many benefits. You can be in control of their diet and hygiene and be sure of the quality and provenance of the meat you are eating.

To start rearing chickens at home on a small scale, it is important to start with a good coop. This helps to keep the birds contained, provide shelter and light , while still protecting them from predators. When looking for quality coops, Amish chicken coops make a good choice as they have a reputation for excellent workmanship and durability. When buying a coop, one should look for sturdily constructed and well-sealed coops which can withstand outdoor weather and keep the chickens safe and dry.

Many Amish chicken coops offer well spaced nesting boxes. These must be accessible from the outside to ensure that the coop can be kept clean and the chickens easily reachable. It is also important to check that the chickens are able to feed easily within the coop. Some coops are built in such a way that shade is provided either below the coop or around it when the chickens are in the yard. Well designed coops ensure that there is plenty of light and good ventilation for the chickens.

Some models of Amish chicken coops are available in portable varieties which offer you greater convenience in moving the chickens according to their need for light and safety. They are also sold as pre-assembled units so they can be used immediately in delivery.  Thus the quality, design, convenience and affordability make Amish chicken coops a good choice for anyone looking to rear chickens at home.

I am looking to purchase a amish chicken coop. I live in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Do you know if we have any dealers here. If not, do you know where or who I can contact about ordering one?

  3. Nice Coop But don’ see a run, is it just not part of the shot on the site. Also how much off the ground is it?
